Maps and illustrations for historical novel

 

I created these maps, and additional illustrations, for Seattle author Susan Little, to be used in her book Disciple: A Novel of Mary Magdalene. The book is currently available on Amazon.com.

In order to capture the feel of the 1970s, when the BeeGees were at the height of their popularity, I researched patterns and fabric designs of the era, and combined them with a modern, streamlined typographic treatment. 

Production notes: Duotones, gloss and matte varnish on inner and outer cover.

Shoreline Dogfest Poster

Designed for Shoreline's annual Dogfest, this poster is based on the WPA posters of the 1930s. The goal was to differentiate it from the various flyers and announcements posted on community boards and pet store windows, and to attract the attention of local dog owners.

AOS Logo and business cards

Design for Aldrich Offshore Services, a company which provides underwater survey, investigation and monitoring services. The client requested something evocative of the elements of both oceans and survey mapping.
